Photographer’s Notes:

This image started out as a photograph of construction materials on a semi trailer. The black circles were added later. The image functions as a metaphor for the ways in which we all try to structure our lives through the power of our will. The black circle in the lower left is part of a swinging pendulum symbolizing the inexorable march of time. Everything changes over time and there is nothing we can do to stop it.
