In her imagery Mary Burger strives to find the simple beauty in the textures of time and history, the land, imperfect architecture and the quirkiness of American culture. She aims to capture a sense of quiet contentedness in her imagery by presenting objects and places that represent a time when life was about hard work and simple pleasures. Mary strives to capture a sense of time and jog memories of the sweetness of life past. “The result, I hope, is that my art will stir emotions, emanate a sweet melancholy and hint at the small things that made life beautiful.”
