I’m a photographer. How can I sell my work on Viewville?
We welcome professional photographers who are interested in marketing their work. Contact us to arrange a submission and review our photographer’s contract.
Who are the photographers on Viewville?
Viewville photographers are all professional editorial or commercial photographers. Many are members of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), a nationally recognized professional organization that includes both advertising and editorial photographers.
Beyond the commercial work is the “personal” work photographers do outside the typical assignment. When shooting simply for the pure joy of it, these artists often explore new subjects and experiment with technique. As artists, they share a passion for, and love of, capturing images. This personal work—whether quirky, gritty or just plain beautiful—is what you’ll find on Viewville.
What kind of prints are these?
Our gallery-quality giclée prints are made-to-order and are created using a large-format digital printer. Our process begins with a high-resolution digital capture, and then we produce brilliant color prints using 8-color archival inks on premium photo paper.
Giclée prints set the standard for digital reproduction and can be found at MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and leading galleries around the country.
Our prints are gallery quality and standard sizes come with a soft white acid-free mat. Our matted prints are suitable for framing right out of the box.
What sizes are available?
Our prints are available in 4 standard sizes — 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 12 x 12 or 16 x 20 inches. These measurements refer to the size of the photo paper on which the image is printed. The image format (square, vertical, horizontal) will determine the size of the border around the print. Our prints are true to the aspect ratio of each image. More about our prints...
Some of our images are panoramic in format and will be printed as large as possible on our standard size paper. They will be backed with a mat board and sleeved.
Special orders and substrates are available upon request.
What about framing?
Typically, a frame should reflect your personal aesthetics and complement your room’s décor. A professional frame shop will offer an extensive selection styles and options, and can guide you through the process. However, if you prefer to have your print framed by Viewville, please contact us, and we’ll assist you for an additional cost and later delivery.
Does Viewville offer custom sizes?
Yes we do. We can make prints in virtually any size. Not every image lends itself to extra large format prints, but if you want a print to cover the wall behind your sofa, we can probably help you. Just contact us for more information.
Do you do commercial orders?
Absolutely. We do custom orders for Interior Designers, Architects and Builder/Developers. We’d love to display Viewville prints in your office, restaurant, hotel, retail store or development. Quantity discounts may apply. Send us an e-mail with your business number and we’ll be happy to give you all the details.
Is my tax rate correct? It looks wrong.
If you are in Minnesota we collect the state sales and use tax. In Hennepin County we are required to collect an additional .15% tax and in the city of Minneapolis itself we collect the city sales and use tax of .5% (whew!) so those two additional taxes should explain your final total rate.
Does my browser really show me how the images are going to look?
The truth is that most web browsers do not support color-managed images (Safari 3 does, though) and will likely show differently online compared to real life. We have taken steps to ensure the online previews are extremely close to the actual photos’ colors.
