Photographer’s Notes:

When I was staying in Nouakchott, Mauritania, just south of the Western Sahara, I was out walking around looking for an internet café. The sun was blazingly hot, and I poked my head into this little corner store for a bottle of water. The light was so bright outside that it allowed me to photograph this fan that appeared up in the recessed shadows of store. The colors are just magnificent.
