Photographer’s Notes:

This image is part of a series I did while working on a grant from Film in the Cities. I traveled throughout the western US photographing landscapes. This scene was taken in a coastal town in Oregon and shows the inundation of the land by sand from Dunes National Park. I wanted to capture the power of what was taking place at the intersection of sand and the surrounding landscape. I was thinking about the flow of time, change and the cycle of life and death.
