David Schrader

David’s first photographic explorations of nature began during the summers of his youth. His family would spend weekends and holidays at an island getaway, surrounded by a robust marine ecosystem. Armed with a 35mm camera, a small rowboat and an insatiable curiosity, David explored the area’s shallow waters and marshes.

This collection of photographs explore the natural cycles, rhythms and textures of the natural world.

His work has been published in Oceans, Camera & Darkroom, Scientific America and Time Magazine. He’s taught color photography at the Brooks Institute of Photography and at the Maine Photographic Workshops. He currently devotes all of his time to the creation of new photographs.
