Photographer’s Notes:

Father’s Day, 1986. Following a brief rain, the sky transformed into an incredible display of light from the setting sun and into this unique cloud pattern. I quickly exposed a shot and only had time for one sheet on my 8x10 camera before the sun set. The negative was underexposed and was intensified in a chemical bath to strengthen its tonality. The resulting image, though more dramatic than the original scene, is a stunning display of this sky.
