Photographer’s Notes:
This series is an exploration of the vivid colors and intricate textures within common fruits and vegetables. I sliced each piece until I found a thickness that would hold the color (wouldn't wash out), but also allowed light to pass through.
Perhaps because of the immense white space surrounding it, and simple patterns, the Cherry has a more graphic quality than others pieces in this series. I can imagine it on a wall at a very large size.
In almost every case, these pieces are purchased to be displayed in a series: a vertical row, horizontal row or a grid (2x2, 3x3, etc.). Series are often based on similar shapes (lime/orange/kiwi/yellow tomato/onion or grape/papaya/pear), complimentary shapes (apple/star fruit/kiwani), contrasting shapes (endive/mushroom/kiwani), or various color combinations (all green, all red, all yellow, red/yellow/green, etc.)
