Photographer Profile
Bill Nelson, Restoration Artist
1904: A Tourist’s Itinerary, An Artist’s Eye.
Discovered in Minneapolis as a forgotten set of more than 200 nitrocellulose negatives, these images of Europe before any World War, before the Twentieth Century really took hold, are more documentary than travelogue. Captured in memorable detail, including location and model notations, an unknown photographer shares with us the people, landscapes and activities of a world long gone. Bill Nelson has painstakingly restored the negatives and presents to us images that are arresting, moving and infinitely fascinating. |
